Finding Time to Write

Many people feel that writing is a breeze and some days - it is. But then there are those days where life gets in the way. I'm finding this to be more and more true over the last several months. I've been working on a couple books lately, feverishly bouncing back and forth between the varying plot lines, and them BOOM! I'm busy setting up doctors appointments, attending the kiddos school functions and pre-planning for the upcoming holidays. I know it can be difficult, as a writer, to stay consistent. I've read blog after blog that insists that you, as a writer, must write every single day to be successful. And if you're anything like me, you're probably thinking, "Great, I'll never be a writer if that's the case." Well, I'm here to say it's absolutely not true... not for everyone, that is. But I'm going to let you in on a little secret of mine that has helped me keep my projects moving forward. I text myself. Yep, you read that right! If I think of a perfect plot twist or dynamic dialogue, I text it to myself. It's that simple.
